Description
Pinoy-style pineapple pie is a sweet and tangy dessert with a buttery, slightly crumbly crust and a juicy filling made from grated fresh or jam-like pineapple. It traces its origins to the Spanish introduction of baking in the Philippines, combined with the abundance of tropical pineapples brought through the Manila–Acapulco Galleon Trade. Later, the American-era pineapple canning industry helped make it a festive treat in Filipino homes and bakeries.
